
Biography
Heart Evangelista was born as Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco to Reynaldo and Cecilia
Ongpauco, on February 14, 1985. She is the youngest of the six siblings that include
a brother (Miguel) and four sisters (Lisa, Marjorie, Michelle and Camille). Evangelista
belongs to the Ongpauco clan of Barrio Fiesta fame. Rod Ongpauco is her uncle,
who is also the founder of the famous Barrio Fiesta chain of restaurants. Her
father, Reynaldi Ongpauco is the man responsible for laying the foundation of
many branches of the Barrio Fiesta restaurants in San Francisco. In a way, Evangelista
was born with a silver spoon and she was bought up in the United States. Once
she completed her studies, her family moved back to Philippines.
Showbiz Calling
Popularity was never far away for Evangelista and today, she is looked upon
as one of the most popular and multi-talented personality. Heart is a true Filipina
actress, singer, VJ and model. It all started when an agent spotted her during
one of her shopping day outs with Camille, her elder sister. Evangelista was
soon signed for Star Magic, which was formerly known as the Talent Center. She
was paired with John Prats for a show called "G-Mik". There seemed
to be an instant hit because the pair sizzled on-screen and brought their respective
characters to life. John Prats and Evangelista starred in many more movies together
like "Trip", "My First Romance", "Ang Tanging Ina"
and the popular teen show "Berks". Soon after this show, the off-screen
as well as the on-screen romance between Evangelista and Prats fell apart.
Heart was soon ready for another shot at fame and landed a role in a primetime
soap opera called Hiram. She was paired opposite Geoff Eigenmann in "Hiram",
which also had a long star cast including Kris Aquino , John Estrada, Dina Bonnevie,
and Anne Curtis . "Hiram" turned out to be a milestone for Evangelista
as she earned the Star Awards Best Actress

nomination at the young age of 20. Multi-talented and a winner all the way,
Evangelista has also won the award for best new female personality for Star
TV as well as in Star Movie awards. Not to be left behind in music, Evangelista
won the Texter Listeners Awards with her single "Love Has Come My Way"
from the Album Himmig Handog Love Songs relased in 2002. In 2003, she releases
another album called "Heart".
